Description

Acrylonitrile styrene acrylic (ASA) is a thermoplastic that is becoming more and more popular every day. ASA fiber has many properties that make it suitable for technical and outdoor purposes. ASA 3D filament is a new but improved relative to the ABS filament we've all heard about. ASA has many advantages that are similar to ABS, but without some of its disadvantages.

Among the most important properties are strength, stiffness, extreme resistance to chemicals and heat. It is primarily intended for professional use. It is most often used for the production of prototypes that must withstand higher temperatures and must be UV resistant. Finished products made with ASA fiber are very durable and impact resistant. They can be exposed to the sun and heat, but generally do not change the substance or color. For example, 3D prints made with ABS fibers are more sensitive when it comes to exposure to the sun and have a tendency to denature and yellow if left outside. With ASA you won't have any problems. it can stay in the sun for years without deformation or color change.

Another advantage of using ASA fiber over ABS fiber is that it deforms less during 3D printing, just be careful when setting the cooling fan; ASA can crack in layers if the cooling of your 3D print is too strong. This thread is a bit difficult to 3D print because it is sensitive to heat in 3D printing, but you can still print it with a 3D printer that has no cover. After extrusion, ASA parts are very heat-resistant and durable, and therefore they are a great choice for the production of nesting boxes, custom-made garden equipment, replacement drawer covers, automotive exterior parts, cover components, sports equipment, and other outdoor parts and accessories.

✔️Strong UV resistance,

✔️water resistant, strong chemical resistance,

✔️great for functional applications,

✔️Possibility of subsequent treatment with acetone,

✔️can be printed on a 3D printer without packaging

❌ prone to scratching during the printing process,

❌more expensive compared to other fibers for 3D printing, it consumes a lot of energy for printing

Recommended temperature: 240 – 260 °C
Recommended heating pad temperature: 100 – 120 °C

Please note that the temperature range of the printing media may vary slightly depending on the use of other printers.
